    Monday  (Theme: “Be Mindful! Don’t Think About Doing Drugs!”/Wear A Hat Or Headband)

    • Red Ribbon Week flyer will be sent via Blackboard to parents on Friday, October 20, 2023.

    ·        Red Ribbon Week theme message will be posted on school marquee for the community.

    ·        Red Ribbon Week post will be on school Facebook page.

    ·        Morning announcements will be about this year’s theme.

    ·        Students and staff will receive red ribbons to wear all week.

    ·        Students and staff may wear a hat or headband.

    ·        Red Ribbon Week themed banner will be in the gym for students to sign during PE classes.

    ·        The librarian will set up a special display of books in the library highlighting healthy choices and decision making.

    ·        Jar full of red items will be displayed in the library. Students may guess/count the number of items to show that we can “Count On” students to stay drug free. The closest guess gets the jar of items to share with his/her class on Friday.

    ·        Student Challenge: Make at least two healthy choices today.

     

    Tuesday  (Theme: “Too BRIGHT For Drugs!”/Wear Sunshades And Bright Neon)

    ·        Morning announcements will be about this year’s theme.

    ·        Students and staff may wear sunshades and bright neon clothing.

    ·        Kindness Club will greet students and hand out stickers as they enter.

    ·        Student Challenge: Share one of your dreams with a friend or teacher.

     

    Wednesday  (Theme: “Be Kind And RED-Y To Live A Drug-Free Life!”/Wear Red From Head To Toe)

    ·        Morning announcements will be about this year’s theme.

    ·        Students and staff may wear red from head to toe.

    ·        Teachers will email Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Simmons the name of the student wearing the most red by 10 a.m. The student wearing the most red in their class will be sent to the counselor’s office and receive a Red Ribbon Week themed prize.

    ·        During PE classes, Recovery Resource Council will present drug and alcohol-free message to 4th and 5th grade students. Students will receive Red Ribbon Week themed item.

    ·        Student Challenge: Give five (5) compliments to others during the day.

     

    Thursday  (Theme: “Join The Fight Against Drugs!”/Wear Camo)

    ·        Morning announcements will be about this year’s theme.

    • Red Ribbon Week Pledge will be read during morning announcements.
    • Students will sign a Red Ribbon Week Pledge and post it on the outside of their classroom door.
    • Students and staff may wear camouflage clothing.
    • Student Challenge: Share what makes you happy with a friend or teacher.

     

    Friday  (Theme: “Say Boo To Drugs!”/Wear Orange And Black)

    ·        Morning announcements will be about this year’s theme.

    ·        Students and staff may wear orange and black.

    ·        Student Challenge: Keep yourself drug free and challenge your friends to do the same.

    ·        Counselor guidance lessons will continue about districtwide Mental Health Awareness.

    Topic: Bullying.

    ·        The winner of the “Count On Me” guessing activity will be announced.
